National Dance Day Today

National Dance Day, a grassroots movement that took place on Saturday, July 31 to encourage the people of this nation to wake up and move, is recognized by an official act of Congress. Submitted by Nigel Lythgoe, executive producer and co-creator of the hit Fox series So you think Can Dance founder of Dizzy Feet Foundation, National Dance Day aims to health and to promote self esteem through the art form of dance.

As part of its commitment dance education and physical fitness in communities across the United States to support Nigel Lythgoe started the National Day of Dance on “So You Think You Can Dance” National Dance Day. Will be held on July 31, 2010. National Dance Day will be a variety of dance-themed activities for people of all ages. It will empower, challenge and inspire everyone to try out different dance styles ranging from hip-hop to ballroom to anything that moves. Above all, it will encourage everyone to dance as a way to get fit and healthy.
